With 70km of golden beaches, it’s no wonder that thousands of tourists flock to the Gold Coast year round.

Its best-known beach is, without doubt, Surfers Paradise, which is lined with cafes, bars, shops and surf clubs; Broadbeach and Burleigh are popular for their fantastic surfing, while Coolangatta, Tugan and Currumbin are great family beaches.

Two hours north of the Gold Coast lies the beautiful Sunshine Coast, where you’ll find great surf, unspoilt stretches of golden sands, vibrant coastal towns and scenic hinterland.

Noosa and Mooloolaba are some of its most popular resort towns, with pristine beaches and excellent restaurants along the oceanfront.

Further north, discover the amazing Seventy-five Mile Beach. It runs along most of the east coast of Fraser Island and is Australia’s premier four-wheel driving location.

The beautiful beach boasts miles upon miles of pristine sand and sea, cliffs of coloured sands, as well as a vast array of wildlife.

One of Queensland’s most awarded beaches is found on the Whitsunday Islands. Whitehaven Beach has been voted the most beautiful beach on the globe and is often featured in travel magazines and programmes.

Stretching over 6km and boasting brilliant silica sand, among the purest in the world, you'll have to see it to believe it.

You can also find many other beautiful beaches on the islands of the Great Barrier Reef.

Heron Island, for instance, is a pristine coral cay, where you can swim straight off the beach into an endless garden of coral. The waters are teeming with a kaleidoscope of marine life just below the surface.

North Queensland to boasts many picturesque beaches, such as the famous Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas. With its swaying coconut palm trees and seemingly endless stretch of golden sands, this has become known as one of Queensland’s most scenic driving routes.
