It's hard to imagine a more perfect place for a game of golf than the sunny green of Queensland. After all, this is the home turf of Greg Norman, Wayne Grady, Ian Baker-Finch, Karrie Webb and Peter Senior. Golf is hugely popular in Queensland, and golfers are very well catered for.

Spectacular courses in spectacular settings
In Queensland, you can play golf by the beach, in the mountains, in the Outback, in the city, in the rainforest, and even on an island.

Eighteen holes is a great way to experience Queensland's native flora and fauna. In fact, on many courses, the kangaroos, koalas and cockatoos outnumber the golfers!

Here, you can play on some of the most spectacularly scenic and challenging championship courses you'll find. Courses that attract the world's best players to PGAs and Queensland Opens. Courses that have brought out the best in the golfing greats, and brought many unstuck.

Teeing up a game of golf in Queensland
In Queensland, you'll find a wide range of private membership golf clubs, public courses and resort courses. Most private clubs and resorts allow public play during specified times. In all cases, you should call ahead to confirm a tee-off time.

Green fees can range from less than A$10 for nine holes at a public course, to more than A$100 for 18 holes at a resort course. As well as a great round of golf, most clubs offer a clubhouse with a bar, kiosk or restaurant.

You can hire all the equipment you need - clubs, pull-buggies and motorised carts. At some courses - especially the larger resort courses - use of a motorised cart is mandatory, and is generally included with your green fees.

Many clubs also house pro shops with a wide range of golfing equipment and accessories.
